These are interesting times. There is great sadness among our community as many long standing employees are let go as we shrink our business to manage the financial hit we took with all the legal issues. There are also some wonderful new opportunities opening up and being created for some of those employees who are moving on. The upcoming closure of our Oakland location, inside of Whole Foods is a big disappointment for all those people struggling financially during these times who have been getting an I Am Grateful Bowl daily for a very small donation. The employees staying on with us in Berkeley, Santa Cruz and Gracias Madre are relieved. You can see that there is a great mix of feelings and emotions amongst us all.
We are working together to continue to support one another during these times and deeply appreciate you coming by for a meal and some of the LOVE Cafe Gratitude is known for.
We will continue to share with you during our process and are grateful you are in our lives.
Love and Gratitude
We give thanks for the rain!
Love,
Terces

Hi Terces,
I just want to tell you how much I have loved Cafe Gratitude after moving back to the Bay Area from Santa Monica in 2009 after Matthew from Rawvolution told me to find you when I told him how much I would miss eating there... I go to one of your locations at least once a week and last August I was diagnosed with cancer. I'm on the mend and was planning on returning to your dining counter at least weekly once again during my healing process, clearly I have been in a bubble... I was so sad to hear your closing most of the Bay's locations when I asked for a Mighty Bar today and they explained why they weren't providing them any more. The Mighty is a staple to my treat time! We are already so limited in the city with regards to delicious fresh raw vegan food, so I'm very sorry to see you go. Cafe Gratitude has been an inspiration and I wish you luck with your next adventures. I love your new ice cream sandwiches by the way.
Best,
Michelle
